**Responsibilities & Duties**
As an Experienced Field Operations Technician I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of activities associated with service installation and maintenance, as well as unregulated activities. Your specific duties will include:
* Performing meter turn-ons and turn-offs
* Delivering disconnect notifications to customers
* Reading customer meters
* Installing meters and meter sets, including industrial meters
* Lighting pilots, testing, and inspecting appliances and gas equipment to ensure proper operation
* Performing farm tap maintenance
* Removing meters
* Responding to high bill requests by performing dial tests, appliance, and filter checks
* Meeting with customers regarding line relocates
* Changing out meters related to the sample testing program
* Repairing water heaters, appliances, etc. (installing if licensed)
* Monitoring for meter tampering; ensuring meters are securely installed
* Monitoring atmospheric corrosion and painting as needed
* Locating gas lines
* Inspecting and maintaining farm tap stations
* Responding to emergency/leak calls; evaluating and grading leaks
* Assisting in training service apprentices
* Assisting the Operations and Maintenance group with line repairs
* Performing leak surveys
* Assisting other departments as needed
* Clearing pipelines
* Repairing/installing temporary clamps on steel risers
* Repairing damaged pipes and plastic services
* Bar testing to evaluate and grade underground gas leaks
* Preparing unregulated estimates and maintaining computer record keeping
* Performing other duties as assigned
**Basic/Required Qualifications**
* High school diploma or GED
* Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
* Basic computer knowledge working in a Windows environment
* Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
**Desired Qualifications**
* Two-year degree and/or technical certifications
* Experience with plumbing license, electrical, or HVAC
* Possess a minimum of one: Plumbing License (P1 or P2), Fuel Piping License/Journeyman, HVAC License, Electrical License (Limited or Full). Must be willing to use license(s) for arenaflex business purposes
* Experience in customer service
* Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
* Safety awareness
**Physical Requirements**
* This position contains a weight restriction of 275 pounds as an essential function of the job. The purpose of this restriction is to ensure that all weight-rated equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner within maximum allowed weight loading.
* Must work outdoors in adverse weather conditions; flexible work schedule; lifting up to 75 lbs.; frequent bending, stooping, standing, crawling, digging, climbing; works on uneven terrain, many times with heavy vegetation; manual dexterity (hand/eye coordination); keen eyesight; good hearing; good sense of smell; comes in frequent contact with insects and animals.
**Other Requirements**
* Field Mobility Classification - Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.
* Perform on-call duty as scheduled/assigned
* Weekend and evening work as required and is subject to overtime and some rotating shifts. Must reside in Resource Center service area; some Resource Centers may require residing in certain counties within the Resource Centers.
