Dynamic Solutions Technology, LLC (DST) is seeking a full time JIRA Engineer to lead a migration from Atlassian Jira Data Center to Atlassian Jira Government Cloud for a Federal client. The candidate must be able to work independently and with a team. This position requires a broad mix of technical and business acumen coupled and excellent communication skills. This is a REMOTE position. Duties and Responsibilities: <ul> <li style="line-height: normal;">Assess the current Jira Data Center setup, including projects, workflows, custom fields, and user permissions.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Define the migration scope and identify critical tasks (e.g., data cleanup, user management).</li> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Develop migration strategy and detailed timeline.</li> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Set up corresponding projects and customize work item types in Jira Gov Cloud.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Choose and configure the appropriate migration tools or methods.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Conduct test migrations and validate results before production rollout.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Migrate projects, workflows, custom fields, and user permissions from Jira Data Center to Jira Gov Cloud.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Migrate Jira plugin data alongside project migrations.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Perform post-migration validation and obtain stakeholder sign-off.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Identify and manage migration risks and mitigation strategies.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Ensure workflows and permissions function properly in Jira Gov Cloud.</li> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.</li> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Document migration process and lessons learned.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Define data mapping for unsupported or custom configurations.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Develop internal and user facing documentation outlining changes and guidance.</li> </ul> Education and Years of Experience: <ul> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical or functional discipline.</li> </ul> Required and Desired Skills/Certifications: <ul> <li style="line-height: normal;">Strong understanding of Jira's architecture, schemes, configurations, and data structures.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Experience with data export, import, and validation process.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Familiar with tools or techniques for migrating data between platforms (e.g., Migration Assistant, CSV imports, API usage).</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Experience migrating and supporting Jira plugins (e.g., Jira Workflow Toolbox, Email This Issue, Big Picture, eazyBI).</li> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Ability to plan, organize, and manage a migration project from start to finish.</li> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Scripting skills (e.g., Groovy, Python) for automating migration tasks or configurations.</li> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Experience with API integrations.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Experience with Atlassian Access (SSO, SCIM provisioning, and user lifecycle management).</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Familiarity with Atlassian Cloud limitations vs Data Center.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Experience setting up and administering Jira in Atlassian Government Cloud environments.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Understanding of Atlassian Data Center and Government Cloud licensing models and user access.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Proficiency in using and configuring Jira, including project setup, task management, and basic customization.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Familiarity with the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Experience setting up and managing Jira Gov Cloud DVCS integrations with on-prem applications.</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Understanding and knowledge of Jira Service Management (JSM).</li> <li style="line-height: normal;">Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with business and technical personnel at all levels of an organization.</li> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Strong observational skills, analytical, and results oriented.</li> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Strong problem-solving skills, and a passion to learn.</li> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Strong organizational skills.</li> <li style="line-height: normal; tab-stops: list .5in;">Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.</li> </ul> Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance.
