GHR Healthcare is seeking a Director of IT Project Management who will provide strategic leadership for the organization's Project Management Office (PMO) and oversee the successful delivery of enterprise technology initiatives. This role involves establishing project governance, optimizing portfolio management practices, and ensuring alignment of technology investments with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the enterprise Project Management Office (PMO), including governance, project intake, prioritization, portfolio planning, and execution
- Develop and maintain project management methodologies, standards, templates, and best practices utilizing Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches
- Establish governance processes that support executive decision-making, project prioritization, funding alignment, and organizational strategy
- Evaluate and optimize Project Portfolio Management (PPM) processes, tools, and reporting capabilities
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project delivery, transparency, and organizational effectiveness
- Lead enterprise technology initiatives across multiple functional areas including: Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms, Clinical and ancillary applications, Revenue Cycle systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions, Digital Health technologies, Infrastructure modernization, Cybersecurity initiatives, Data, analytics, automation, and emerging technologies
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with organizational priorities while maintaining high levels of quality and stakeholder satisfaction
- Maintain visibility across the enterprise project portfolio, including active projects, pipeline initiatives, resource utilization, dependencies, and organizational capacity
- Develop executive dashboards and portfolio reporting that provide meaningful insights into project health, risks, financial performance, and resource allocation
- Identify delivery risks and proactively resolve issues affecting multiple workstreams
- Partner with business and technology leaders to optimize project prioritization and resource planning
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership regarding project portfolio performance, investment priorities, organizational readiness, and delivery strategy
- Build strong partnerships with clinical, operational, finance, and IT leadership
- Present project updates, governance recommendations, portfolio reviews, and strategic initiatives to executive committees and senior leadership
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful execution of enterprise initiatives
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to project execution, portfolio performance, resource utilization, and business value realization
- Promote continuous process improvement through governance enhancements, automation, standardized reporting, and project management best practices
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and professional development within the PMO
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience leading technology projects, programs, or portfolios within healthcare or another highly regulated industry
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise technology initiatives and complex organizational change
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent required
- Experience supporting enterprise technology portfolios that include: Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, Clinical applications, Revenue Cycle solutions, ERP platforms, Infrastructure projects, Cybersecurity initiatives, Digital transformation programs
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies
- Experience implementing governance frameworks, portfolio management processes, and enterprise project management tools
- Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and organizational skills
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Information Systems, or related field
- Experience leading enterprise digital transformation initiatives
- Experience with AI, automation, advanced analytics, or innovation programs
- Healthcare provider or integrated delivery network (IDN) experience
- Experience managing large-scale EHR implementation or optimization initiatives
