NEW IN Plaintiff Employment Associate | National Plaintiffs’ Trial Platform | Wage & Hour Class / Collective Actions Only | Up to $180k | San Francisco / Los Angeles | Hybrid / Remote Flexibility
Highlights:
• True wage & hour focus: This is not a mixed employment role. The team is focused on wage & hour, class actions, and collective actions, not labor, harassment, discrimination, or workers’ comp
• High-profile plaintiffs’ platform: Publicly, the firm highlights its work in complex, high-stakes litigation and its experience representing employees in failure to pay wages, overtime, and commissions cases.
• National exposure: The firm markets itself as a national litigation platform and notes that its lawyers litigate high-stakes matters across the country, giving attorneys exposure beyond a purely local practice.
• Strong writing-led environment: This team places real value on writing ability, and the hiring notes suggest candidates with judicial clerkship backgrounds or especially strong written advocacy will stand out
• Growth platform: The firm has expanded rapidly in recent years and is still building, so this is a good move for someone who wants to join a platform with momentum
• Good long-term culture: Based on the hiring-team briefing you shared, retention is strong and the culture is seen internally as one of the main selling points
The Role:
• Handle plaintiff-side wage & hour litigation
• Work on class and collective actions
• Deal with matters involving misclassification, meal and rest break violations, expense reimbursement disputes, off-the-clock work, PAGA claims, and FLSA claims
• Support senior attorneys on briefing, litigation strategy, case development, and settlement work
• Work on a mix of California matters and multi-jurisdictional cases
⚖️ What they’re looking for:
• 3–6 years’ experience
• California Bar license is mandatory
• Plaintiff-side employment litigation experience with clear wage & hour exposure
• Strong writing ability
• Writing sample required to move the process along, with 2 preferred
• Judicial clerkship background is highly valued
• Exposure to multiple jurisdictions such as CA, WA, NY, or IL is a plus
Location / Working Setup:
• Bay Area / San Francisco: hybrid, with 3 days in office preferred
• Los Angeles: currently remote, with the expectation of future hybrid presence if the local office footprint expands
Compensation & Structure:
• 3–4 years PQE: up to around $150,000
• 5–6 years PQE: up to around $180,000
• Time expectation is structured around 8 hours logged daily, with a mix of billable and non-billable time
• Bonuses are discretionary, with performance evaluated more broadly than a pure defense-style billable formula
Why people move into roles like this:
• Better plaintiff-side cases
• Real class / collective action exposure
• A serious trial platform with long-term upside
