General Management Consultant – Federal Healthcare System

Job Description: • Serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership and VHA stakeholders, providing practical, mission-focused support • Plan, manage, and execute enterprise-level healthcare transformation initiatives from concept through implementation • Lead and contribute to multiple concurrent projects, rapidly establishing structure, scope, and execution plans • Coordinate across VHA program offices, field operations, and external partners to align goals, manage dependencies, and drive decisions • Apply program management, industrial engineering, and healthcare systems engineering principles to design safe, comprehensive, and efficient solutions • Deliver enterprise program and project management services, often driven by legislation, policy changes, and executive direction • Identify and manage risks, resource constraints, and budget considerations across competing priorities • Produce high-quality, executive-ready deliverables that inform decisions and advance mission outcomes • Adapt quickly as priorities shift, providing concierge-level support to leadership and program teams Requirements: • 3 to 8 years of experience in management consulting, healthcare transformation, or federal health programs • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred • Preferred certifications include PMP, Prosci, Lean, and Human-Centered Design, or similar • MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) at an advanced level • Demonstrated experience supporting Veterans Health Administration or federal healthcare initiatives strongly preferred • Strong program and project management capability with experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder efforts • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendations • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort engaging senior government leaders • Highly organized, systematic, and proactive with strong follow-through • A roll up your sleeves doer who delivers without needing constant direction • Strong communication and problem-solving skills • Strong customer service acumen • Trusted executive-level advisory expertise. • Coordinate across VHA program offices, field operations, and executive leadership • Facilitate stakeholder alignment and consensus building • Produce high-quality briefings, decision papers, and presentations for senior leaders Benefits: • Up to 10% travel to Washington D.C.
