**The Role**
As our CDP Lead, you'll play a critical role in automating and optimizing our unified data layer across our consumer applications. You'll lead the architecture design and drive the technical direction for managing and utilizing customer data to improve business objectives. Your goal will be to facilitate a self-serve analytics culture, working cross-functionally with our Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams to ensure that key success metrics are identified and tracked.
**Responsibilities**
* Own the strategy and operations of our data pipelines, ensuring that we're using Segment and other tools effectively to funnel data into the right places.
* Develop and maintain a detailed tracking plan that outlines the events, properties, and user identifiers to be tracked, ensuring consistency and clarity.
* Validate the data collected by Segment against the tracking plan, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
* Transform and enrich the collected data using Segment's features (e.g., transformations, libraries) to ensure it's in a usable format for downstream tools.
* Implement and configure Segment libraries and integrations across websites, mobile apps, and other platforms, configuring them to collect the necessary data and create a unified customer view.
* Manage integrations between Segment and various analytics tools, marketing platforms, and other systems.
* Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams to understand their data needs, ensure effective data tracking, and drive implementations to completion.
* Develop actionable insights on customer onsite behavior that guide business decisions while prioritizing across business units and other stakeholders.
* Establish and enforce best practices for data tracking, ensuring consistency and maintainability.
* Monitor the performance of the tracking implementation, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.
**Ideal Experience & Competencies**
* Direct experience with implementations of Segment analytics in world-class organizations.
* Expert-level proficiency in Segment Libraries, Protocols, Segment HTTP API.
* Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, CS, or other quantitative field preferred OR 5+ years stellar track record in data management, analytics, and reporting.
* 5+ years professional experience ideally in a B2C business.
* 3+ years experience as a data analyst or product analyst with Segment implementations (must have strong product and user experience sense).
* Hands-on experience in Data Warehousing for storing and analyzing collected data, including data modeling.
* Strong knowledge of Snowflake platform, data modeling tools (i.e. dbt), and SQL.
* Experience with modern analytic tools - like Google Analytics, Amplitude, Optimizely, Segment, Braze, Tableau, Sigma, etc.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to craft a compelling story for stakeholder management and concisely present recommendations across teams and levels to solve problems and drive technical solutions.
* Ability to work with little supervision and meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
* Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
