Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced instructional designer to partner with us in building a premium, purpose-driven middle school curriculum focused on talent development, identity, and leadership formation.
The Work:
You will take established frameworks and ideas and elevate them into well-structured, classroom-ready curriculum materials that are both deeply engaging for students and effortless for teachers to deliver.
Deliverables include:
Student Workbooks: Clean, intuitive, age-appropriate, and highly engaging
Teacher Guides: Clear facilitation language, pacing guidance, and instructional intent
Lesson Design: Scaffolded, intentional learning progression across a 25 experience for each grade
Activities & Reflection: Thought-provoking, practical, and developmentally appropriate. We have written content- we want someone who can make the content interactive and fun.
Curriculum Focus:
Talent development (strengths-based lens preferred)
Identity formation and self-awareness
Personal growth and goal setting
Foundational leadership and communication skills
Who This Is For (and Not For):
This role is a strong fit if you:
Have proven experience designing high-quality K–12 curriculum, ideally for middle school
Demonstrate deep understanding of instructional design principles (scaffolding, cognitive load, engagement, transfer of learning)
Can translate complex developmental concepts into clear, accessible student language
Have created both student-facing and teacher-facing materials that are actively used in classrooms
Bring a balance of structure, clarity, and creativity
Care about building something that is both meaningful and scalable
This is likely NOT a fit if you:
Primarily write content without structuring learning experiences
Lack experience with middle school learners
Need heavy direction to translate ideas into curriculum
Have not built teacher guides or facilitated instructional materials
Preferred Experience (Strong Advantage):
Strengths-based or talent development frameworks (e.g., CliftonStrengths or Strengths Explorer)
Leadership or character development programming
Designing curriculum that integrates reflection, discussion, and real-world application
Project Structure:
Initial phase: 1 grade level (25 lesson curriculum) for student and teacher.
Strong potential for expansion into a 3-year program (6th–8th grade)
We value quality and thought partnership over speed
