Organization: SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-Valley Position Overview: Responsible for the management of workers' compensation claims for assigned self-insured affiliates. Manages claims from time reported until resolution. Works in a team environment with technical specialists, supervisor, claim manager and affiliate representatives. Partners with medical providers, and risk management professionals to ensure integration of claim issues. Job Description: Candidate must come on site 1 day per week plus for meetings, etc. for a minimum of 5 days a month. EDUCATION: Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma • Bachelor's CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: • SIP Certificate exam within 36 months of hire • Successful completion of an IEA Certificate within 18 months of hire TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: • 5 years recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of California Workers’ Compensation law. • Must have on the job and classroom training, experience and knowledge surrounding California’s Labor Code, estimating workers’ compensation costs, permanent disability rating and medical terminology. • Proven oral and written communication skills. Communications must reflect knowledge of grammar in English composition and acceptable business letter format, as well as, industry jargon. • Ability to ensure compliance with Standard Work and Claims Management Standards. • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information. • Ability to work independently, maintain a balance of work priorities and complete assignments within established timeframes. • Analytical skills, the ability to draw valid conclusions, and formulate sound recommendations. • Organizational and planning skills, and the ability to manage and coordinate the activities related to an assigned caseload and the payment of workers’ compensation claims. • Ability to work with diverse health and administrative professionals at all organizational levels. • Computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Pay Range is $94,848.00 to $142,272.00 / annual salary The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
