We're looking for a video editor who lives at the intersection of
• *creative storytelling and direct response performance**
. This isn't a brand video role. Every cut you make has a job to do.
• *What You'll Work On
• Editing VSLs (Video Sales Letters) and short-form Facebook/Instagram ads for a beauty brand in an active scaling phase
• Executing scripts with precision — and flagging (or fixing) copy that won't land on camera
• Iterating fast on hooks, pacing, and visual rhythm based on performance data
• Producing multiple creative variations per concept for split testing
• *What We're Looking For
• Proven experience editing
• *direct response video ads**
— e-commerce or beauty experience is a strong plus
• Deep understanding of
• *marketing awareness stages**
: cold traffic hooks, warm retargeting, VSL structure — ideally informed by frameworks like
• Breakthrough Advertising*
(Schwartz) or equivalent
• Fluency with
• *AI video tools**
, including
• *Veo 3**
, runway, ElevenLabs, or similar — you follow what's new and you actually use it
• Ability to
• *read and improve scripts**
, not just execute them — you understand what makes a hook pull attention and what kills retention
• Strong sense of
• *pacing for female audiences 45+**
— you know the difference between editing for TikTok and editing for a skeptical Facebook scroller
• Fast turnaround and async communication — this is a remote role and we move quickly
• *Nice to Have
• Experience with multi-market campaigns (US English, US Spanish/Latino, Mexican Spanish)
• Familiarity with UGC-style and testimonial ad formats
• Understanding of captions, text overlays, and visual hierarchy for mobile-first viewing
• *What This Role Isn't
This is not a passive execution role. We need someone who thinks like a marketer, edits like a craftsperson, and communicates like a collaborator. If you only follow a brief and hand it back — this isn't the fit.
