The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead our tax department. This is a senior-level role that combines technical tax expertise, strategic advisory, and portfolio management. The ideal candidate is an organized, confident professional who can manage a high-volume book of business, deliver sophisticated tax advisory to clients, and maintain efficiency and quality throughout tax season and beyond. This person will play a central role in supporting the firm’s continued growth. Key Responsibilities • Oversee and manage the firm’s full tax portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate delivery across all client engagements from preparation through filing • Lead client-facing tax advisory meetings, providing real-time guidance on entity structuring, tax planning strategies, and business decisions • Advise clients on entity selection and structure across S-Corps, C-Corps, and Partnerships — covering income levels, number of partners, ownership structure, distribution preferences, and short- and long-term tax strategy, including pass-through taxation, double taxation exposure, self-employment tax implications, and eligibility restrictions • Guide clients through entity conversions and restructuring decisions as their businesses evolve — assessing tax consequences, timing, and strategic fit for transitions such as LLC to S-Corp, S-Corp to C-Corp, or partnership restructuring • Review tax returns prepared by outsourced preparation staff for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to submission • Manage client relationships professionally, setting clear expectations around timelines, deliverables, and revision scope • Balance scheduled client meetings with return review responsibilities throughout tax season • Identify opportunities to improve workflow and support the firm’s scalability as we grow Qualifications • Active CPA license required • Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax • Deep knowledge of entity structuring, including S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnership, and sole proprietorship considerations • Proven ability to manage a high-volume return portfolio from preparation through filing under seasonal deadlines • Experience reviewing returns prepared by others, including outsourced or offshore preparation teams • Strong client communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly and confidently in real time • Excellent organizational skills and a proactive, deadline-driven work style • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities simultaneously without sacrificing quality Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Full benefits package available. This is a full-time, year-round position with significant opportunity for growth as the firm scales.
