The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) is a critical part of Michigan’s education system serving the Greater Kalamazoo region and provides specialized services to schools and communities and optimizes resources by centralizing innovative programs and services. We partner with school districts and the broader community to offer essential programs including early childhood education, special education, career learning, and educator development, ensuring that learners of all ages receive the support they need. We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator in Michigan for our MiTECH team. This position is remote/hybrid, with occasional travel within Michigan. Candidates must reside within Michigan, or a commutable distance. Summary: The Systems Administrator is responsible for continually improving and administering cloud-based server tasks, user identity management, and security operations for KRESA and our partner districts. responsibilities include administration of various environments including Microsoft, AWS, Google as well as security platforms such as Crowdstrike and CybSafe. The successful candidate will assist the Systems Engineer in defining, planning and executing best practices throughout all environments. This individual will participate in technical research to enable continuing innovation within a cloud-first infrastructure utilizing AWS and modern security tools. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain logical and healthy directory services, with a focus on Entra ID and Google Workspace while managing legacy Active Directory as needed. • Perform cloud systems administration in an Amazon Web Services environment. • Manage Intune for device enrollment, application deployment, and automated patch management. • Establish and maintain system integrations and user account automations. • Support third-party hosted software and SaaS applications, including Single Sign-On (SSO). • Use account management tools to assign group memberships, rights, and enforce policies. • Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations and protocols. • Administer and maintain security platforms, specifically Crowdstrike for endpoint protection and Keeper for password management. • Configure and maintain Intune Policies and Entra Conditional Access Policies. • Conduct organizational security awareness training using CybSafe. • Design, execute, and report on Microsoft Phishing Simulations to assess employee security readiness. • Monitor systems health and security and respond promptly to any issues. • Manage server and endpoint security configurations. • Provide assistance to the Application Support Specialist as needed • Ensure proper data governance and security across systems and applications • Other duties as assigned Education and/or Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience. • 2–4 years of experience with Identity Management (Entra ID/Google Workspace), Intune, and Security Administration. • Experience with AWS, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace is required. • Experience with Keeper, Crowdstrike, or similar security tools is highly preferred. • Legacy Active Directory and VMware experience preferred. Certificates, License, Registration: At least (1) of the following certifications, alternatives will be considered • Google Professional Workspace Administrator • Microsoft 365 Certified Endpoint Administrator Associate • AWS Cloud Practitioner This is a 12-month calendar position in job grade 16T with a yearly rate of pay between $60,009 and $88,050.
