Learn more about this agency This job is open to The public U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Clarification from the agency U.S. Citizens Duties • You will manage and supervise the assessment, inspection, and evaluation of emergency management processes, preparedness, responses, plans and standard operating procedures. • You will manage and supervise the planning, preparation and execution of emergency exercises to evaluate the command's level of preparedness and emergency response to all disasters. • You will manage and supervise responses to actual disasters and support the reconciliation of available resources against those needed to support emergency response activities. • You serve as emergency management subject matter expert for SWFPAC during any emergency event to include national level weapon enterprise planning. • You will implement programs to engage all stakeholders in reducing the frequency, severity, and cost of disasters, injuries, fatalities, and impact on critical infrastructure and the environment. • You will analyze and determine needed and available resources (e.g., technical expertise, equipment, and infrastructure) and capacities, as well as future sources, to support emergency activities. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101. Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing emergency management duties related to preventing, preparing for, responding to, recovering from, or mitigating natural or man-made hazards-including nuclear or radiological events.
