About This Role
The Sales Support Specialist provides day-to-day operational support to the sales team, helping ensure a smooth process from initial customer engagement through project progression. This role serves as a key point of contact for internal sales representatives, assisting with questions, troubleshooting issues, coordinating project updates, and helping projects move efficiently through the solar pipeline.
The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Overall Responsibilities
Provide real-time support to sales representatives through phone, chat, email, and internal communication channels
Assist with general sales inquiries and help resolve questions related to project status, documentation, and next steps
Support the preparation and completion of change orders and other project-related updates
Troubleshoot issues alongside sales representatives and operational teams
Monitor and help manage the flow of projects through the sales and operational pipeline
Coordinate with permitting, design, scheduling, inspections, and operations teams to obtain project updates
Communicate accurate and timely information to sales representatives and leadership
Help maintain organization and consistency within internal systems and processes
Review project documentation for completeness and accuracy
Maintain a general understanding of the solar project lifecycle and how projects progress through each stage
Escalate issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution
Qualifications
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment
Professional customer service and relationship-building skills
Comfortable supporting teams through chat, email, phone, and other communication tools
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Experience with CRM platforms and project tracking systems preferred
Previous experience in sales support, customer service, project coordination, or administrative support preferred
Solar industry experience preferred but not required
