Own the permits and interconnections that bring commercial solar to life — 100% remote.
Revel Energy designs and builds custom commercial solar and energy storage systems that help California businesses cut operating costs and take control of their power. Since 2009, we've engineered high-performance systems for commercial, industrial, and agricultural clients — and we're growing.
We're hiring a
Permit & Utility Interconnection Coordinator
to keep our projects moving from submittal to switch-on. You'll be the connective tissue between our design teams, project managers, engineers, and outside agencies — the person who gets approvals across the line and gets clean power feeding the grid.
This is a commercial & industrial (C&I) role, not a high-volume residential queue. You'll manage a portfolio of ~40 active projects at once, each with its own jurisdiction, utility, and technical wrinkles — so depth, follow-through, and judgment matter more than raw speed.
What you'll do
• Compile, review, and organize plans, documents, and applications across jurisdictions and utilities.
• Prepare, submit, and track permit and interconnection applications through their full life cycle.
• Serve as the primary contact with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and utility companies.
• Schedule and coordinate inspections, and manage plan revisions, resubmittals, and technical-review responses.
• Drive the Permission to Operate (PTO) process so projects are approved to activate.
• Maintain detailed records and stay ahead of expiration and renewal requirements.
What you bring
• 1–3 years in permitting, utility interconnection, or project coordination — commercial renewable energy or construction preferred.
• Comfortable reading architectural and engineering plans and building complete submittal packages.
• Working knowledge of the NEC, California Title 24, and local AHJ requirements.
• Confident in Smartsheet and Google Drive/Workspace; Aurora Solar and CAD a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or relevant coursework a plus.
• Valid California driver's license; occasional travel to project sites or agency offices as needed.
• Sharp organization, calm multitasking, and clear communication.
Why Revel
• Real impact — your work accelerates California's shift to clean, locally generated energy.
• 100% remote with a collaborative team that celebrates every project that goes live.
• Room to grow into senior coordination, project management, or interconnection leadership.
Compensation & benefits
• $55,000 – $75,000 / year, depending on experience.
• [Medical, dental, and vision coverage]
• [PTO, paid holidays, sick leave]
• 100% remote.
