Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source powerhouse seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to strategic OpenTelemetry projects and help define the company's technical strategy for OpenTelemetry adoption. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering skills, technical leadership, and community collaboration skills, with experience working with observability tools and open source communities.
Requirements
- Strong experience with at least one systems or backend programming language
- Experience with Golang, Rust, or Java is strongly preferred
- Experience with C, C++, or similar languages can also translate well
- Experience with open source communities
- Experience working with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or similar technologies from a developer's perspective
- Ability to write software that is reliable, maintainable, and understandable to other engineers
- Comfortable taking ownership of ambiguous technical problems and driving them from discovery through delivery
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or systems engineering
- Strong written communication and collaboration skills
