LMI seeks a Subject Matter Expert in Military Health care delivery and Military Health policy to support a federal program management office in Northern Virginia. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our VA client evaluate program effectiveness of mental health and suicide prevention programs. A Subject Matter Expert in Military Health care delivery and Military Health policy serves as a high-level advisor bridging the gap between clinical healthcare delivery and Department of Defense (DoD) operational readiness. These roles are often situated within the Military Health System (MHS) or the Defense Health Agency (DHA), providing technical and strategic guidance to senior leadership, including the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs.
This position requires the candidate to be local to the NCR area, with occasional in-person meetings in Tysons, VA.

• Responsibilities
• Support the monitoring of task execution, solution adoption, and the impact on patient outcomes as tied to DHA's evolving mission priorities.
• Demonstrate expertise supporting policy development, clinical program implementation, or organizational change within the Military Health System MHS, including organizations such as the Defense Health Agency DHA or Department of Veterans Affairs VA, preferably in the areas of TBI and brain health.
• Demonstrate experience working with military healthcare providers, operational leaders, and government stakeholders to support clinical policy, program development, and operational improvements. Strong knowledge of evidence-based research practices, clinical data interpretation, and the translation of military health policy into operational guidance.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of Department of Defense health policy, Military Health System governance, and federal healthcare regulations including HIPAA and Joint Commission standards.
• Serve as the Senior Technical Advisor and Military Health Policy Subject Matter Expert supporting programmatic and solution development initiatives aligned with Warfighter Brain Health priorities, including but not limited to Anomalous Health Incident.
• Engage clinical teams, operational stakeholders, and cross functional project staff to assess current care practices, identify gaps, and synthesize insights into evidence-based policy and program recommendations.
• Conduct structured engagement with clinical stakeholders to gather insights on current practices, challenges, and opportunities for improvement within military care environments.
• Lead the development, review, and adjudication of clinical recommendations and policy guidance based on emerging research, provider experience, and operational requirements. .
• Evaluate existing policies, clinical guidance, and care delivery workflows to validate assumptions, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend evidence-based updates aligned with Department of Defense health policy and federal healthcare regulations.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, clinical leadership, and program teams to ensure evidence-based recommendations are incorporated into program outputs, policy guidance, clinical workflows, and training materials supporting Warfighter Brain Health initiatives.
• Provide subject matter expertise during the development of program capabilities, tools, and supporting solutions, ensuring clinical and policy alignment throughout program planning and implementation activities.
• Translate clinical insights and operational realities into actionable recommendations that inform solution development.
• Serve as the day-to-day Military Health Policy expert for assigned initiatives and acts as a point of escalation for clinical and policy related.
