Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design of HVAC systems for various building types, ensuring optimal comfort, air quality, and energy efficiency. Perform heating and cooling load calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., HAP, Trace 3D). Design ductwork and piping distribution systems, adhering to project requirements and codes. Specify HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, air handling units, fans, pumps, and terminal units. Develop system layouts, schematics, and equipment schedules. Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, energy standards (e.g., ASHRAE 90.1), and client specifications. Collaborate effectively with architects, electrical engineers, plumbing engineers, and other project stakeholders. Provide construction administration support, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits. Investigate and resolve design and construction issues related to HVAC systems. Stay current with emerging HVAC technologies, sustainable design practices, and industry trends. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in HVAC system design. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or the ability to obtain one. Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., HAP, Trace 3D, Revit MEP). Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics. Familiarity with building codes, energy conservation standards, and industry best practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
