Currently, we are seeking a qualified Design Engineer to work collaboratively with our Window and Doors division in a remote position. Job Summary: You will be involved in every aspect of the product design life cycle; from the front end of communicating with architects to translate their choices into Henselstone product solutions through product end of life. The individual in this role is expected to bring mechanical engineering knowledge and a desire to learn about new products and help brainstorm solutions that meet or exceed our customer’s expectations for design, functionality and longevity. The individual in this role is expected to work in a very collaborative cross-departmental position. Responsibilities: • Translating architectural drawings into Henselstone window and door orders • Engineering design solutions for architects and builders • Specifically drafting and sketching of façade, window, and door details, hardware, unit to wall integration details, and writing of technical documentation for a variety of material technologies • Analyze simulation of designed products (e.g., loadings, thermal analysis, condensation risk, energy loss/gain, etc.) with specialized software. • Meeting and communicating with architects • Understanding our products and window and door designs and products in general • Engineering new window and door designs and product development • Be the subject matter expert for relevant building codes, energy codes, industry standards, façade, window, and door testing standards and mockups.
