For more information, please visit our website at https://www.tmcfinancing.com/careers The Position The Loan Officer facilitates all aspects of SBA 504, working closely with SBA, clients, lenders, brokers, escrow officers and third-party vendors.

Officer advises and educates the business owner on the feasibility of the project as it relates to their business.

Officer assists the business owner with the preparation of financial projections and other financial reports as needed.

Officer obtains relevant information and documentation, presents a concise credit narrative recommending the loan to SBA and monitors progress until SBA Authorization is received and a smooth transition to closing can be made.

Officer must have a proficient working knowledge of the SBA SOP, strong analytical ability, comprehension skills and utilize critical thinking and judgment on a regular basis. They also must be able to multi-task and prioritize their decision-making responsibilities in a fast-paced competitive environment and deliver excellent customer service with minimal supervision.
The perfect person for this role has prior SBA or commercial real estate financing experience and excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities
• Manage all client contact during loan processing. Request, collect, and assist with preparation of documentation including loan application, financials and interim statements and information needed to complete the credit memorandum and loan narrative.
• Spread and analyze financials and/or projections of client and affiliated businesses for feasibility & ratios, check size standards, structure project, determined management’s ability & eligibility and other SBA criteria. Based upon the information analyzed, and their commercial loan expertise and judgment, when appropriate, present a concise write-up recommending projects to the TMC Board of Directors and Small Business Administration for final review and approval.
• Coordinate with Third Party lender(s) for analysis and approval of third-party reports.
• Using experience and judgement, review required appraisal and environmental reports for reasonableness and accuracy for SBA submission and review.
• Communicate directly with SBA to monitor the status of 504 loan applications and when needed provide additional information to complete the credit decision process.Monitor progress until authorization is received.
• Communicate status updates to all parties involved in the transaction and effectively manage expectations and timelines.
• Ensure the file is complete and audit ready after independent review of applicant’s ability to pay based on an evaluation of applicant’s business’, economic performance, and projections.
• Effectively communicate and transfer information and file to closing team.
• Completes No Adverse Change Certifications
• Perform other tasks and assist on department/company projects as required.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; or 4–6 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in commercial lending, with a focus on SBA 504 loan programs and practices.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent time management and project management skills; must be able to track and manage details for multiple clients and projects and prioritize against daily responsibilities.
• Must exercise independent sound judgment based upon the information obtained for recommendations to the Board of Directors and SBA.
• Excellent attention to detail without compromising deadlines.
• Strong people and communications skills are essential. Must be able to interact and cooperate with various personality types and work levels both internally and externally.
