Responsibilities
- 3–5+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, specifically designing complex digital products and interfaces
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end user-centered design processes, from research and concept development through detailed design and implementation
- Experience in regulated industries, preferably medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, or other safety-critical environments where usability, risk mitigation, and compliance are critical
- Demonstrated skills and interest in user research and human factors, including conducting or supporting user interviews, usability testing, task analysis, and synthesizing insights into design solutions
- Ability to design intuitive interfaces for diverse user groups, including patients, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams, including researchers, engineers, product managers, clinical experts, and regulatory stakeholders
- Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma and Adobe XD
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to translate complex requirements into clear, usable interfaces
- Solid understanding of information architecture and interaction design principles
- Ability to present and communicate design decisions effectively, including the value and impact of those decisions on users and business goals
- Experience or strong interest in healthcare or medical technology, with a passion for improving patient, clinician, or healthcare professional experiences through evidence-based design
- Background or familiarity with FDA-regulated products and associated usability and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of IEC usability engineering standards and human factors engineering practices for safety-critical systems
- Understanding of clinical workflows and the design of medical device software, including software as a medical device (SaMD)
- Experience defining and optimizing design processes and tools within product teams
- Ability to provide design leadership and guidance to technical teams, promoting best practices in UX and UI design
- Commitment to reading and following the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and adhering to physical and digital security practices
