The Tax Senior Analyst will support the corporate tax department in tax return compliance, income tax provision, financial reporting, and tax planning, while collaborating with various teams within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740, and prepare related tax disclosures for SEC reporting
- Prepare federal, state, and local income tax filings and supporting calculations, including estimates and extensions, and ensure timely filing. Assist with filing of the returns as assigned
- Prepare other indirect tax filings including personal property tax, franchise tax, and sales and use tax. Assist with filing of the returns as assigned
- Research and respond to tax notices from federal, state, and local tax authorities
- Collaborate with the company’s payroll function to ensure proper compliance with payroll tax reporting obligations
- Maintain current knowledge of tax laws and financial and accounting guidance, and stay current with new and developing tax legislation having a tax impact on the company
- Ensure tax files and documentation are properly maintained for compliance under SOX 404 regulations
- Conduct tax research and prepare technical memoranda on certain tax matters
- Support the company with M&A tax diligence, strategy, and integration efforts
- Support the company with its research and development tax credit study and analysis
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- An active CPA license required
- Knowledge of corporate accounting
- 2+ years of tax experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department
- Proficiency with business and communications software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Copilot, and Outlook) is required
- Self-starting and motivated, able to work without supervision to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, high attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with the broader team, including external advisors
- Master's degree in Taxation highly preferred
- A strong, hands-on knowledge of tax research tools such as CCH is recommended
- Familiarity with Corptax, Bloomberg tax depreciation software, and NetSuite is recommended
