The Senior Tax Analyst will support the domestic tax operations of Veeva, serving as the primary preparer of the income tax provision and coordinating compliance workflows with external partners.
Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly and annual global ASC 740 tax provision, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Execute calculations for tax implications related to ASC 718 Stock-Based Compensation, 162(m), and other tax provision components
- Support tax accounting control compliance under Sarbanes-Oxley
- Own the internal and external information request process for tax provision, compliance, and audits
- Execute detailed reviews of income tax return workpapers and returns prepared by external service providers, including verifying book/tax differences, state apportionment, and required disclosures
- Coordinate the compliance timeline and execute a detailed review of all corporate income tax extensions and quarterly estimated tax workpapers prepared by external service providers
- Share operational responsibility for the accurate, timely calculation and processing of related tax payments to guarantee zero late or missed filings and payments
- Drive the non-income tax operational pipeline, ensuring accurate, timely filing of federal and state and local business licenses, gross receipts, and payments with zero missed deadlines
- Draft initial responses to federal and state notices, tax audits, and compile required documentation to support inquiries from authorities
- Prepare monthly general ledger tax account reconciliations and necessary journal entries
- Conduct research and provide insightful analysis on tax implications of specific transactions
Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in federal and state income tax compliance and reporting, including a minimum of 2 years in a CPA firm
- Foundational preparation expertise in ASC 740 tax provision models
- A sharp analytical mindset with a knack for problem-solving
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
- Proficient in Excel
- A degree in Finance or Accounting (B.S./B.A.)
- CPA License or a Master's in Taxation
- Experience with Big 4 firms or in a multinational corporate setting
- Previous exposure to Netsuite
