The Senior Planning Engineer will focus on Expansion/Market Planning, developing collaborative solutions to improve network efficiencies and drive revenue growth through detailed service delivery plans and network designs.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Account Team and Solutions Engineers to develop efficient architecture solutions for new customer deals and network expense recovery
- Develop collaborative planning solutions to aid in the long-term growth of the company from a network advancement and revenue perspective
- Improve network efficiencies by addressing latency, owned vs leased assets, and deployment of new technology
- Drive revenue growth by identifying new near net assets in high revenue growth areas and expansion markets
- Create detailed plans providing service delivery solutions to customer or data center locations, including physical and network layer plans, maps, diagrams, and cost estimates
- Provide support through the implementation stages by performing capital budget/variance management and network design reviews
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and 6 years of relevant experience
- 4 years of related experience with a Master's degree
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting with demonstrated proficiency in VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
- Proficiency in utilizing internal mapping tools for map-based design tasks
- Effective collaboration and communication skills with ability to delegate to internal project stakeholders and third-party vendor partners
- Experience with and foundational understanding of internal mapping tools like ArcGIS or comparable for designing within detailed maps and diagrams to depict design plan initiatives
- Project Management or Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated experience driving process improvement utilizing such methodologies
