Piper Companies is seeking a remote QA Engineer to support software testing and quality assurance efforts within a growing development team. This role will focus on manual testing, test case development, and defect identification, while partnering closely with developers and senior QA team members to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Responsibilities
- Execute manual testing on new and existing software features
- Write, review, and maintain detailed test cases and test plans
- Collaborate with senior QA team members to validate test coverage and approach
- Identify, document, and track bugs and defects throughout the development lifecycle
- Perform API and data validation testing using SQL and JSON
- Work closely with development teams to validate fixes and enhancements
- Contribute to overall QA processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Proactively test applications from multiple angles to ensure functionality and performance
Skills
- 2-3 years of experience in manual QA testing
- Strong experience with SQL for data validation and testing
- Experience working with JSON data structures
- Experience writing and executing test cases
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects
- Self-starter with strong communication skills and ability to learn quickly
- Experience testing Web APIs
- Experience with Azure DevOps or Jira for test management and defect tracking
- Exposure to Agile or SDLC environments
