The Program Manager for Strategic Systems is responsible for leading and executing a portfolio of programs related to solid rocket motors, chemicals, and explosives, ensuring alignment with project objectives and effective communication among stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive, coordinated plans for a portfolio of 3-10 projects, including scope, schedule, cost estimates, risk assessments, and resource requirements
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, clients, and government agencies, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives
- Monitor and project budgets/financials, ensuring adherence to financial targets and cost management throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage and communicate scope changes, ensuring alignment with program goals and customer expectations
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or management (or equivalent experience)
- 10 years of experience in project or supply chain management and operations
- Experience managing defense or government projects
- Experience negotiating contracts with vendors, suppliers, or customers
- Experience with project management software to manage schedules and budgets
- Travel up to 30%, including the possibility of overnights, to customer sites, industry conferences, and program reviews
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship)
- Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain applicable state and federal explosives licenses, including minimum age requirements (21 and over), a drug-free workplace in compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 (41 U.S.C. §§ 8101–8106), Executive Order 12564 (Drug-Free Federal Workplace), applicable Department of Defense directives including DoD Instruction 1010.09 and DFARS 252.226-7003 and successful completion of any legally required background investigations
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
