BCM Law, P.C. is seeking an experienced Medicare Compliance Attorney to join their collaborative and growing Medicare Compliance Practice Group. The role involves managing Medicare compliance matters, advising clients on risk, and supporting case resolution strategies in a dynamic legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) compliance in workers’ compensation and liability matters
- Resolve Conditional Payment claims for reimbursement, including preparation of disputes and appeals, attend Administrative Law Judge Hearings, and appeal cases at the Department of Treasury
- Review and analyze Workers’ Compensation MSAs. Conduct re-reviews, Amended Reviews and update existing MSA allocations as needed
- Provide strategic guidance on MSA allocation, funding options (lump sum vs. annuity), and cost mitigation opportunities
- Oversee submission of MSA proposals to CMS and manage the approval process
- Communicate with CMS and other stakeholders to support approvals and resolve compliance issues
- Oversee claim process for Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans and negotiate reductions of claims
- Review and analyze Medicare-related provisions in settlement agreements to ensure compliance and safeguard client interests
- Stay current on regulatory updates and provide internal and client-facing guidance on MSP developments
Skills
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in the USA
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and interpretive skills
- Experience with Medicare compliance, MSP, or Workers Compensation defense (strongly preferred)
- Portable book of business is a plus
