United Natural Foods Inc. is seeking an Industrial Engineer responsible for developing and implementing performance standards for warehouse and delivery operations. The role involves collaborating with teams to identify improvements, educating staff on standards application, and ensuring accurate standards maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Review of current standards in operating DC’s or accuracy
- Working with DC teams and Process partners to identify areas for improvement
- Accurately adjusting standards to reflect process changes and improvements
- Educating Supervisors and Managers on standards function and application and how to effectively maintain daily audits and corrections
- Engaging Direct Associates for feedback on current functions and opportunity areas
- Educating Supervisors and Managers on proper Methods Audit processes and documentation
- Identifying system and interface opportunities to insure timely and accurate calculation and feedback
- Performs other relevant job duties as required
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of HS Diploma and experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in MOST and MSD multi-functional standards development, implementation, and maintenance
- Proven experience and ability to work within multiple warehouse management systems and effectively identify and eliminate system-oriented obstacles to ensuring a result of fair, reasonable, and accurate multi-functional standards
- Proven experience and ability to work across multiple operational areas to support effective engagement, and alignment to support learning and understanding of the needs of the operation and goals of the organization
- Excellent communication and engagement skills
- Support an environment of learning and teaching in the operation
- Must have exceptional computer skills within stated area of engineering expertise and must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications
- Responsive and attentive customer service skills to effectively support operations
- Ability to work with Operations leaders and Process Training and Support team to effectively engineer standards based on best processes and practices
- Travel to DC's required 40+ weeks per year minimum of 3 days per week
- Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available
