YRCI is seeking an HR Data Analytics Specialist to support Federal Human Capital operations by delivering advanced workforce analytics and data-driven insights. The role involves extracting, analyzing, and translating HR data into executive-ready insights that inform workforce planning and organizational performance.
Responsibilities
- Support workforce analytics initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting Federal Human Resources (HR) data from systems such as NFC, HRConnect, and USA Staffing (USAS)
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports tracking key HR metrics (e.g., hiring timelines, attrition, workforce demographics, onboarding progress)
- Build dynamic Excel, Power BI, or similar tools that allow real-time updates during executive briefings
- Provide recurring and ad hoc data analysis to support HR data calls, audits, and reporting requirements. Analyze the data and prove the outcome of the analysis
- Extract and normalize historical HR data from federal systems and portals (e.g., National Finance Center [NFC], HR Connect, USA Staffing, Enterprise Services Portal)
- Track, collect, and develop datasets supporting HR audits, payroll reviews (A-123), and performance reporting
- Translate complex HR datasets into clear, concise, and visually compelling presentations for senior leadership
- Convert technical HR terminology and Federal processes into plain-language insights for non-HR stakeholders
- Assist in end-to-end hiring analytics, including pipeline tracking, onboarding timelines, and process optimization; identify inefficiencies and recommend data-driven improvements
- Through data analytics, support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with agency HR and management goals
- Respond rapidly to changing requirements, priorities, and leadership requests
- Collaborate with HR teams, program offices, and leadership to refine analytics needs and deliverables
- Provide on-the-spot data adjustments and analysis during meetings with executives
Skills
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the government-required security clearance
- A minimum of 4 years of experience supporting Federal HR data calls, audits, and reporting requirements; and translating complex HR and workforce data into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders
- Strong storytelling skills using data visualization and executive level presentations
- Knowledge of HC strategies and workforce analytics methodologies
- Understanding of Federal HR processes, including hiring, onboarding, personnel actions, and workforce planning
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft (MS) Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data modeling) and SQL, queries, and formulas
- Experience building interactive dashboards (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Strong data manipulation and analysis skills across large datasets to summarize numerical and quantifiable data to provide usable information
- Experience pulling large data sets for data calls, turning raw data into ratios, percentages, analytics for executive briefings; creating excel sheets where data can be searched
- Familiarity with Federal HR systems such as: NFC (National Finance Center), HR Connect, USAS, Other Federal HR platforms
- Experience smashing two data sets into a single data call response
- Experience utilizing AI, such as copilot, to do analytics and formulas
