The Head of Sales will own the revenue number, build and scale the sales team, and work directly with the CEO to drive growth and improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Own the new MRR number and be accountable for it to the CEO and board
- Recruit, hire, ramp, and coach AEs and BDRs; raise the bar with every hire
- Run the weekly sales cadence: pipeline reviews, forecast calls, deal desk, call coaching
- Deliver an accurate forecast in HubSpot; treat CRM hygiene as non-negotiable
- Refine and enforce the sales playbook: qualification, discovery, demo, negotiation, close
- Own quota and compensation design in partnership with the CEO
- Manage the inbound-to-close funnel and the outbound motion, and improve conversion at every stage
- Develop the POS partner channel (Toast, SpotOn, Shift4, Square) as a repeatable pipeline source
- Feed structured customer and loss-reason intelligence back into product and marketing
- Personally close lighthouse and multi-unit accounts alongside your reps
Skills
- 7+ years of SaaS sales experience with 3+ years leading quota-carrying teams
- You have scaled a sales org from roughly 5 reps to 20+ at a startup between Seed and Series B and can walk us through exactly what you built and the numbers that resulted
- Track record of hitting team quota as a leader, not just as an individual contributor
- High-velocity SMB and mid-market motion experience with 14-45 day cycles and monthly recurring revenue quotas
- You have built or overhauled comp plans, territories, and forecasting from scratch
- Strong operator instincts in HubSpot or a similar CRM: you build reports, you do not ask for them
- Recruiter mentality: you maintain a bench of reps who would follow you
- Direct, data-driven communicator who is comfortable telling a founder-CEO they are wrong
- Experience selling to restaurants, hospitality, or SMB retail
- Familiarity with restaurant POS ecosystems and channel partnerships
- Experience in a company that raised a Series A while you were leading sales
- Voice AI, conversational AI, or vertical SaaS background
