AlphaSignal is building the intelligence layer for AI, and they are seeking a Growth Product Manager to own the subscriber funnel for AlphaSignal Pro. The role involves defining the conversion experience, running growth experiments, and optimizing subscriber retention to drive paid subscriptions.
Responsibilities
- Own the full free-to-paid conversion funnel: paywall placement, upgrade triggers, trial design, onboarding activation
- Run structured growth experiments — pricing, packaging, feature gates, upgrade copy, email sequences
- Define and optimize the subscriber retention loop: engagement scoring, churn prediction, win-back campaigns
- Work with editorial to test content-as-growth levers: what to gate, what to preview, what to give away
- Set and own the growth metrics: CVR, MRR, trial-to-paid rate, churn, LTV by cohort
- Identify and build 'Pro for builders' features that drive upgrades among engineers (data access, API, repo unlocks)
- Ship fast — weekly experiments, bi-weekly learnings, monthly roadmap reviews
Skills
- 3–7 years of product experience, with at least 2 years owning a subscription growth funnel (free → paid)
- You've moved a conversion or retention metric and can show the before/after
- Comfortable living in data: PostHog, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or equivalent — plus basic SQL
- You understand the technical AI audience intuitively — you read the same content our subscribers do
- Strong experimentation instincts — you know when to A/B test and when to just ship
- Can write a tight product brief and talk to engineers without losing either audience
- Background at a freemium AI or tech media company (Perplexity, Hugging Face, Axios Pro, Medium, The Information)
- You've built or shipped a paywall, trial flow, or content unlock mechanism
- Experience with email-driven growth loops (newsletters, drip sequences, upgrade nudges)
- You've grown a subscriber base for a developer or research-focused product
