Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Ledgent Technology is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to support and enhance the organization's Azure-based data environment. The role focuses on SQL Server development, data integration, reporting, and cloud-based database administration, aiming to modernize data processes and improve business visibility through analytics.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases and supporting data structures
- Build and support ETL processes that integrate data across business applications and enterprise systems
- Develop stored procedures, views, functions, and complex queries to support reporting and operational needs
- Design and maintain data models that support reporting, analytics, and business processes
- Monitor and improve data quality, validation, and auditing processes
- Develop and maintain operational reports and dashboards using Power BI and related reporting tools
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
- Support reporting initiatives that improve visibility into operational and business performance
- Support Azure-hosted SQL environments, virtual machines, and related infrastructure
- Assist with provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, and performance optimization of database systems
- Support cloud-based automation and data movement initiatives where appropriate
- Perform SQL Server maintenance, indexing, performance tuning, and query optimization
- Troubleshoot database, integration, and reporting issues in production environments
- Support backup, recovery, monitoring, and overall database health
- Implement data privacy, masking, and security best practices
- Support compliance requirements and maintain appropriate controls for sensitive data
- Ensure data integrity and reliability across systems
Skills
- 4+ years of SQL Server database development experience
- Advanced T-SQL skills including stored procedures, views, query tuning, and performance optimization
- Experience developing and supporting ETL processes
- Experience with Power BI, SSRS, or similar reporting platforms
- Experience working within Microsoft Azure environments
- Understanding of database design, data warehousing concepts, and data integration practices
- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, or related Azure services
- Exposure to cloud modernization initiatives and Azure SQL environments
- Experience supporting healthcare or other regulated data environments
- Understanding of HIPAA and data privacy requirements
