They are seeking a Data Analyst to support the modernization of Department of Defense data and reporting capabilities by building secure, scalable dashboards and ETL pipelines using Power BI and Microsoft SQL Server.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to deliver actionable insights to mission stakeholders
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL jobs, stored procedures, and optimized data models on Microsoft SQL Server
- Develop and tune queries and views that support analytics and reporting requirements
- Partner with analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand user needs and translate them into secure data and reporting solutions
- Contribute to data validation, quality checks, and testing activities
- Participate in sprint planning, user story refinement, and continuous delivery activities
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to shared knowledge repositories
- Recommend and implement enhancements to improve data quality, performance, reliability, and security
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
- US Citizenship required, with ability to pass an IT-II background investigation; active Secret clearance preferred
- CompTIA Security+ (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
- 4+ years of data analysis or data engineering experience, preferably in secure, distributed systems
- Demonstrated experience designing and building dashboards and reports in Power BI
- Proficiency with the Microsoft SQL Server dialect of SQL (T-SQL), including hands-on experience building ETL jobs and writing stored procedures
- Hands-on experience using GitHub, Jira, and Confluence in an agile DevSecOps environment
- Experience working on remote agile teams with strong collaboration and communication skills
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
- Experience with Microsoft Power Automate and the broader Microsoft Power Platform suite of tools
- Microsoft Certified: Power Automate RPA Developer Associate (PL-500), or Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)
- Experience building and maintaining dashboards in Amazon QuickSight
- Experience with AWS Athena and Amazon Redshift
- AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics)
- Familiarity with SharePoint
- Familiarity with DoD secure data standards, DISA STIGs, and NIST 800-53 compliance frameworks
