Eastwall is a professional services firm focused on the Azure cloud space, aiming to improve business outcomes through modern technology. The Cloud Software Engineer will work with Enterprise Architecture and Technology Leadership to develop and implement cloud infrastructure and application solutions.
Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and execute the development and modernization of infrastructure & application software on Azure using infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service technologies
- Perform analysis on existing application ecosystems and infrastructure to make & implement recommendations for operational efficiency, security and governance, and high-performance availability across enterprise-wide, global systems
- Migrate enterprise application workloads, workflows, processes, and automation to the Azure ecosystem using industry standard and proprietary processes & technologies
- Support current-state analysis and work with enterprise architects & application architects to build refactor plans to modernize code to the latest frameworks and service-based components
- Leverage infrastructure-as-code (Bicep, Terraform) and automated processes (Azure DevOps pipelines) to implement solutions reliably and repeatedly
- Define and clearly communicate requirements and technical progress to stakeholders and internal delivery management resources
- Work as a team across the complete life cycle of delivery including architecture, design, development, testing & validation, and documentation
- Support operational handoff to customer-facing teams or the client
- Tune or alter output deliverables to ensure projects within Eastwall’s portfolio maintain high-fidelity documentation & presentations
Skills
- 3+ Years developing solutions that run on the Microsoft Azure platform. This is required. Any candidate without explicit Azure experience will not be considered
- 3+ Years in a fast-paced Systems Integrator, Consulting, or Cloud-focused technology organization
- 3+ Years in Software-led organization(s) in an Architect, Software Engineer, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering role. This is required. Any candidate without an explicit understanding of modern software development practices will not be considered
- 3+ Years developing .NET solutions, preferably in .NET Core or the latest frameworks
- Strong familiarity with test-driven development and/or thorough testing requirements, including unit testing, integration testing, and performance/load testing
- Able to describe in detail a previous engagement or project where software was modernized from legacy or deprecated frameworks to a cloud-native design
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel & Word from a consultative perspective. Comfortable authoring documentation in Confluence, Wiki, or other markdown formats
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree or previous college education is preferred, but not required
