They are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth by acquiring new accounts and managing existing relationships in the solar equipment distribution sector.
Responsibilities
- B2B Account Acquisition: Prospect, identify, and onboard new residential and commercial solar installers, EPCs, and contractors to utilize the company as their primary equipment distributor
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, consultative relationships with existing accounts, ensuring high customer retention and increasing the share of wallet through upselling and cross-selling
- Technical Consultative Sales: Serve as a subject matter expert on the latest solar technologies—including PV modules, string and micro-inverters, racking systems, and Energy Storage Systems
- Pipeline & Forecasting: Manage a robust sales pipeline using CRM software, providing accurate sales forecasts, market feedback, and competitive intelligence to the executive team
- Supply Chain Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment, manage client expectations regarding lead times, and resolve any shipping or inventory issues
- Market Expansion: Attend industry trade shows, networking events, and conduct field visits to stay visible in the market and uncover new business opportunities
Skills
- B2B sales experience specifically within the solar industry
- An active 'book of business' or a strong network of established relationships with solar installation companies and EPCs
- A solid understanding of grid-tied and off-grid solar systems, battery backup solutions, and the leading hardware brands in the market
- A self-motivated, aggressive approach to outbound sales and lead generation, paired with excellent negotiation and closing skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to conduct professional product presentations and business reviews remotely or in person
- Proven ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while maintaining high activity levels and meeting aggressive sales quotas
- Experience working for a solar distributor or equipment manufacturer is highly preferred
