The Business Development Director drives revenue growth by managing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and representing the company at trade shows and industry events.
Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing
- Develop and execute strategic outreach plans
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
- Collaborate with customers to identify opportunities for additional services
- Address customer needs, concerns, and inquiries in a timely manner
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and retention
- Review contracts and make recommendations to Executive Management
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and networking events
- Coordinate event participation, including booth setup and materials
- Engage with attendees, generate leads, and promote company offerings
- Follow up on leads generated from events
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent knowledge or skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience
- 5+ years or sales, business development, commercial operations, or account management experience
- Understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, and lead generation strategies
- Knowledge of the company's services, industry trends, and competitive landscape
- Negotiation and persuasive selling techniques
- Organized with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to build and foster relationships with team members
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- A valid driver's license
- Ability to conduct self in an appropriate manner as a representative of SEC, working effectively in a diverse work environment
- Preferred experience in the Electric power, generation, transmission, and distribution industry
