Midea Group is seeking a seasoned BESS Business Development Manager to drive the growth of their Battery Energy Storage System business line in North America. The role involves expanding the North American market, managing customer relationships, and overseeing the proposal and sales processes to achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Identify and acquire new customers in the North American market; uncover active projects, identify valid requirements, and assess the viability of business opportunities to successfully secure and close deals
- Leverage a deep understanding of company products to conduct technical discussions with clients, select appropriate product components/solutions, and clarify or resolve technical inquiries
- Oversee the full customer lifecycle, including but not limited to lead generation, proposal submission, relationship management, contract negotiation, and general client support
- Ensure commercial and technical proposals are created and submitted in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner, meeting both client requirements and business objectives
- Maintain accurate records of sales opportunities, proposals, contracts, and commercial activities; develop strategies to secure partnership agreements, achieve sales targets, and maximize company profitability
- Update sales activities, performance metrics, and project integration status within the company’s business workflow systems in a timely manner
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Proficiency in both Chinese and English as working languages, with fluent listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales or business development within the energy storage industry
- Experience with utility-scale/large-scale Energy Storage Systems (ESS) is a must
- A strong entrepreneurial spirit with a 'can-do' attitude
- Robust analytical skills and excellent cross-cultural communication abilities to effectively manage interactions at all levels
- Proactive, results-oriented, detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence
- Highly perceptive to market and customer needs, with a strategic and long-term mindset
- A background in Electrical Engineering is a plus
