• *About The Role**
We are seeking a highly experienced Software Quality Assurance Tester to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of web-based applications through meticulous testing and validation processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual testing, familiarity with accessibility standards, and experience working within Agile development environments. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects supporting federal and enterprise clients, with occasional on-site meetings at our customer’s headquarters in Baltimore. You will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to identify issues, improve system reliability, and enhance user experience across diverse user groups.
• *Qualifications**
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in software quality assurance, testing, or related roles in enterprise or federal environments.
- Proven experience performing manual testing of web-based applications.
- Extensive knowledge of accessibility standards such as Section 508 and WCAG 2.2, with experience validating user interfaces for compliance.
- Experience working within Agile development methodologies and participating in iterative delivery cycles.
- Experience testing APIs, system integrations, and data workflows is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with effective defect documentation and tracking skills.
- Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting compliance frameworks is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Practical application skills with the ability to perform tasks independently with occasional expert guidance.
• *Responsibilities**
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, and test cases to validate system functionality, performance, security, accessibility, and reliability.
- Perform manual testing of web-based applications to ensure they meet specified requirements and standards.
- Ensure applications are compliant with accessibility standards such as Section 508 and WCAG 2.2, validating user experience across different user profiles.
- Identify, document, and track defects, establishing clear reproduction steps and ensuring timely resolution.
- Collaborate with developers and business analysts to review requirements, ensuring they are testable, complete, and clearly understood.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Monitor quality trends and provide actionable recommendations to enhance system reliability and reduce defect rates.
- Maintain thorough documentation of test cases, test results, and quality metrics to support transparency and reporting efforts.
- Support API testing, system integration validation, and data workflow assessments as required.
