About ev.energy
We’re building the world’s largest Virtual Power Plant (VPP). By connecting to electric vehicles, charging stations, home batteries, and other distributed energy resources, we turn them into flexible grid assets that generate direct value for society and the planet. We’re scaling fast across North America and Europe, and we’re looking for team members who want to power the grid of the future.
The opportunity
We’re looking for a Program Manager to help us deliver complex, cross-functional projects and programs that sit at the intersection of clean energy, technology, and operations. This is a customer facing, hands-on role for someone who thrives on bringing structure to ambiguity in a developing industry, keeping multiple work-streams moving, and using AI as an orchestration layer - delegating the routine, elevating the thinking, and growing your career in the process.
Our Program Managers are essentially customer success superheroes - once a partnership is signed, the Program Manager is responsible for ensuring all of the goals are met, being the daily point of contact to ensure true success of the partnership
What are we looking for?
For this role, we’re looking for these things as minimum requirements:
3+ years of program or project management experience, ideally in a startup or fast-scaling environment
Experience owning end to end client health on major accounts
Demonstrated data literacy - you’re comfortable working with metrics, dashboards and structured data to drive decisions
Fluent English communication skills, written and verbal - you can write a crisp brief, run a tight meeting, and draft a clear stakeholder update
Technical proficiency - you’re comfortable using modern software tools and can learn new platforms quickly
Open to AI - you’re actively curious about how AI tools can make your work better, and you’re willing to experiment and build new habits. Demonstrated experience building AI-first solutions and/or agents is a plus.
A can-do attitude - you move fast, you take ownership, and you don’t wait for a perfect playbook before getting started
It would be amazing if you had these things too:
Experience in energy, utilities, or climate tech
Exposure to data tools such as SQL
What will you be doing?
Program delivery
Own end-to-end delivery of key programs, from scoping and planning through execution and retrospective.
Act as the point of contact and Program Manager for multiple large-scale utilities across the US.
Maintain clear visibility across workstreams- tracking statuses, surfacing blockers, and keeping stakeholders aligned.
Facilitate planning sessions, stands, and reviews to drive momentum and accountability
Translate strategic goals into well-structure project plans with clear milestones and owners.
Operations & process
Design and maintain scalable program management frameworks, templates, and playbooks
Identify process inefficiencies and implement practical improvements across teams
Support program intake and prioritization to help the business focus on what matters most
Data & reporting
Track and report program performance using data - not just activity, but outcomes
Build dashboards or structured reporting to give clients real-time visibility
Collaborate with the Data team to ensure consistent measurement and attribution across programs
AI-powered ways of working
Actively use AI tools - including Claude - to accelerate documentation, analysis, status reporting and communication
Identify new opportunities to embed AI into program workflows and help the team adopt them
Champion smart, scalable ways of working across the teams you support

Location & how we work
This role is fully remote in Canada (with a preference for EST).
The majority of people at ev.energy work on a fully remote basis, with a small number of roles based on-site in our testing sites.
This means that most of our people work from home, but we're happy to provide co-working subscriptions if you'd like to spend time at a WeWork (or other co-working space close to you).
We balance our remote set up by getting everyone together once a year for an offsite, as we know that spending time together IRL is super important.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity: we do not discriminate based on race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status or disability status. If you'd like a copy of our DE&I policy you can reach us at
[email protected]. We'll always do our best to accommodate reasonable adjustments to the interview process if needed - just let us know.
We know that not everyone will meet every single requirement listed, and that’s okay. We’d especially encourage women and people from underrepresented backgrounds to apply, even if you’re not sure you tick every box — research shows these groups are less likely to apply unless they meet all the criteria. If this role excites you and you think you could make an impact, we’d love to hear from you.
