Description:
• Own end-to-end design for internal tools, from discovery and problem framing through prototyping and implementation support.
• Partner with engineering and product managers to define requirements and turn them into clear design solutions.
• Conduct lightweight research and usability sessions with internal users to validate decisions and uncover unmet needs.
• Contribute to a consistent design language across the internal tools suite in coordination with the Sail Design team and Stripe's design system.
• Make pragmatic design trade-offs that balance craft, speed, and product momentum.
• Help raise the quality bar for internal product design and advocate for underserved internal users.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of product design experience with a portfolio showing strong UX thinking, visual craft, and comfort with ambiguity.
• Experience designing complex or data-heavy workflows such as internal tools, developer tools, or ops platforms.
• Ability to work across the full design process, including discovery, problem framing, prototyping, and shipping.
• Strong systems-thinking mindset with an ability to identify patterns, reusable components, and structural solutions.
• Collaborative and direct communication skills, including sharing work early and aligning cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Figma and experience working within or alongside a design system.
• Experience designing for internal-facing or enterprise tooling environments is preferred.
• Experience contributing to a design system or working closely with a design systems team is preferred.
• Exposure to information architecture challenges such as navigation, search, and content modeling is preferred.
• Background in or interest in developer tooling, ops platforms, or workflow automation is preferred.
