Our client, a world-renowned biopharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering, developing, and delivering innovative medicines, is seeking an exceptional Principal Pharmaceutical Research Scientist to join their oncology research division in **Boise, Idaho, US**. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline and a strong track record of leadership in preclinical oncology drug discovery. You will play a critical role in driving innovative research programs, contributing to the development of novel therapeutic strategies, and advancing candidate drugs through the pipeline. Responsibilities: Lead and execute innovative research projects focused on identifying and validating novel oncology drug targets. Design, conduct, and interpret complex experiments using a variety of in vitro and in vivo models relevant to cancer biology. Develop and implement cutting-edge assays for drug screening, characterization, and efficacy evaluation. Supervise and mentor junior scientists and research associates, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment. Analyze and interpret complex datasets, employing advanced statistical methods and bioinformatics tools. Prepare and present research findings at internal scientific meetings and external conferences. Contribute to the writing of scientific publications, patents, and regulatory documents. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, and clinical development. Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape in oncology drug discovery. Contribute to the strategic direction of the oncology research portfolio. Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety regulations and ethical guidelines. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of post-doctoral research experience in oncology drug discovery within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Demonstrated expertise in cancer biology, immunology, and/or molecular targeted therapy. Extensive hands-on experience with various cancer models (cell lines, patient-derived xenografts, genetically engineered mouse models). Proficiency in a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g., western blotting, qPCR, flow cytometry, ELISA, IHC). Experience with drug screening, lead optimization, and preclinical efficacy studies. Proven ability to lead research projects, manage timelines, and mentor scientific staff. Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific information effectively.
