Melton is looking for a curriculum specialist to help us to refine the materials found in our Meetinghouse kits. Meetinghouse is a new concept specifically for adults in their 30s, 40s and 50s, who want to start or continue a Jewish learning journey while building connection and community with their peers. Learn more about Meetinghouse here. The curriculum specialist is a summer role, perfect for a Jewish educator, rabbinical student, or someone pursuing a Jewish education degree.
The role of refining our Meetinghouse materials involves the following:
• Review data received from participants in our Meetinghouse pilot.
• Suggest and implement changes on a variety of aspects of the Meetinghouse kits:
o Text selections
o Revisions of explanatory materials in facilitator and participant guides
o Optional activities
• Get in touch with past Meetinghouse participants to ask additional/clarifying questions or
solicit feedback on potential changes.
• Edit materials so they are clear and high quality
• Work collaboratively with our Executive Director and Director of Curriculum Development on content and our Director of Communications on design.
The ideal candidate will have deep-rooted Jewish knowledge and be committed to Jewish pluralism. They should also have significant experience in:
• Curriculum and Program Design
• Pedagogy (for adults)
• Articulate and Clear Writing
• Meeting deadlines
The curriculum editor is designed as a part-time hourly remote position over the summer. We anticipate that the position will run from mid-June through sometime in August. The hourly rate will be between $45-$60 to be determined based on experience.
