About the Role:  Snapscale is seeking a skilled Medical Virtual Assistant with Ophthalmology experience to support a US-based Ophthalmology clinic in a remote setup. In this role, you will be responsible for insurance verification, prior authorization processing, patient scheduling, appointment coordination, inbound call handling, and EMR management to ensure a seamless patient experience. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting U.S. Ophthalmology practices and is knowledgeable in patient coordination, insurance workflows, and healthcare administration. Key Responsibilities: Verify vision and medical insurance eligibility, benefits, copays, deductibles, and coverage limitations Process insurance verification and initiate prior authorization requests as required Contact insurance carriers to resolve eligibility discrepancies and document verification details in the practice management system Answer inbound calls and assist patients with scheduling, rescheduling, appointment confirmations, reminders, and general inquiries Manage patient records and maintain accurate documentation using EMR/EHR systems Coordinate with clinic staff regarding insurance issues, same-day verification requests, and scheduling exceptions Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain accurate patient and insurance documentation at all times Perks: Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) Competitive pay Government-mandated benefits 13th month pay Night differential pay Internet allowance Perfect attendance bonus Yearly salary increase Opportunities for career growth and development Requirements Must have experience working with a U.S.-based Ophthalmology clinic or physician (required) Must have hands-on experience with insurance verification and prior authorization processing Experience with EMR/EHR systems, patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and inbound call handling Experience verifying vision and medical insurance benefits, including copays, deductibles, and coverage limitations Experience communicating directly with insurance providers to resolve eligibility and authorization issues Medical billing and coding experience is an advantage Strong written and verbal English communication skills Excellent customer service and patient communication skills Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently Must be comfortable working in a remote setup with a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace
