Marketing Coordinator
GoWoofer · New York City · Contract retainer
The opportunity
Woofer is building a new category of dog walking in New York. Every dog gets their own Team - a small, vetted group of walkers who actually know them. Every walk is one-on-one. Every walker is GPS-tracked. Every dog is covered by two million dollars in insurance per walk. Owners book in two-hour windows, the app is convenient, and the humans behind it are the product.
We’ve been live since January. New walkers join every week. Our positioning is sharp, our messaging house is set, our PAWS Personality Profile matches the right walker to the right dog, and our growth strategy for the next twelve months is mapped out: walker-led video ads, a high-converting Meet, Greet & Walk funnel, a thoughtful HubSpot lifecycle program, and a real in-person presence in our neighborhoods. We’re hiring a Marketing Coordinator to run it with us.
The role
Done a marketing role or two and ready to learn from a seasoned CMO, roll up your sleeves, and put your fingerprints on a category-defining brand? This is that role.
You’ll support the co-founder who leads go-to-market on every part of our dog owner acquisition and retention engine - content, social, paid, lifecycle, local events, and reporting. Strategy and brand voice come from leadership; execution and craft come from you.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves shipping. You’ll be in every strategy conversation, running campaigns, talking to dog owners at events, and seeing the things you launch reach New Yorkers walking their dogs the same week. The right person walks into a company they can grow with for a long time - your remit and role will broaden fast as you prove out.
What you’ll do
Support the co-founder in creating and optimizing our dog owner acquisition and retention funnel.
Create and ship content across our social channels in our voice.
Run our Meta paid program day-to-day with hyperlocal NYC targeting.
Operate our HubSpot lifecycle program to optimize acquisition and retention across the buyer journey.
Support local events, neighborhood activations, building partnerships, SEO, LLM discoverability, and whatever else the strategy calls for.
Own weekly funnel reporting so we always know what’s working.
Who you are
Must love dogs. You don’t need to own one, but you have to genuinely love them.
A year or two of marketing under your belt. You’ve run paid ads, written email sequences, briefed designers, and read a dashboard on Monday morning to decide what to change next.
Genuinely AI-fluent at work. You don’t just use Claude or similar to draft a birthday text - you actually use AI to do your job better. You’ve built workflows, automated repetitive tasks, replaced manual steps with prompts. We will test for this.
Hungry to keep going. You’re actively expanding what you can do with AI and shipping new tricks every month.
A get-stuff-done attitude. You roll up your sleeves and get satisfaction from shipping work, not from talking about shipping work.
A fast learner who loves feedback. You take direct input and turn it into better work the same week.
You thrive on pace. We move fast, we love what we do, and we have big goals.
You write well, and you can match someone else’s voice.
Based in New York City.
Our team
We’re small, senior, and serious about being kind to each other. We move fast, we hold each other to a high bar, and we ship work we’re proud of. The right person walks into a company they can grow with for a long time, with real opportunity to broaden their remit as they earn it.
Bonus points
Marketplace or two-sided platform experience.
You’ve worked in HubSpot already.
You’ve organized in-person events.
You can edit Framer or similar.
Logistics
$2,000–3,000/month retainer. Contract with potential to become a permanent position.
New York City-based.
Reports to the co-founder who leads go-to-market.
Start: as soon as we find the right person.
