Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with a Large Bank in Little Rock, AR to find a Loan Accountant to join their team. The Loan Accountant is responsible for recording, monitoring, and auditing loan-related accounting activity and general ledger data, while providing timely support to the Finance and Accounting teams.
This role is ideal for someone currently in a Loan Assistant or similar role or Accounting Specialist, as this position is focused on loan operations and system accuracy rather than traditional general ledger accounting and month-end close.
This role is remote for candidates based in Central Arkansas, with occasional on-site presence as needed,
Key Responsibilities
• Record, maintain, and update loan-related accounting activity, including payments, transactions, and general loan maintenance
• Monitor loan data to ensure accuracy of terms, pricing, and system information
• Reconcile loan accounts and resolve discrepancies or exceptions
• Support loan servicing activities, including modifications, reporting, and inquiry resolution
• Assist with participation loan accounting, including setup, maintenance, and transaction processing
Ideal candidate will possess:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent combination of education)
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in lending, accounting, or other relevant experience
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and willingness to learn GAAP application
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ideal Background:
• Experience as a Loan Assistant, Loan Processor, Loan Servicer or similar, supporting commercial or retail lenders
• OR experience in an Accounting Specialist role with high transaction volume, reconciliations, and systems work
• Exposure to loan maintenance, transactions, or account-level activity
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Interest in growing into loan accounting and broader accounting functions
