Facilities Management is an integral element of the Business Affairs team and serves to create, maintain, and continuously improve the William & Mary physical environment to enable excellence in teaching, research, and public service. Monitor and maintain HVAC, utility and other building service systems in laboratory facilities, specifically the Integrated Science Center (ISC) and others as assigned. Incumbent of the position will be required to carry a pager or other communications device for emergencies and urgent work related to the restoration of systems operations either by remote operation of systems automation or by on-site repairs and adjustments. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and makes independent decision on how to repair, recommends replacement of component parts and equipment to supervisor. Coordinate schedules and appointments with customers. Job Description: Required Qualifications • Valid driver's license. • Universal EPA Refrigerant Certification. • HVAC Master Mechanic License. • Demonstrated HVAC Masters level experience. • Demonstrated experience with Siemens and/or Johnson Controls digital building automation controls. • Excellent mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and other building mechanical systems. • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills relating to troubleshooting HVAC and other mechanical and electrical systems. • Substantial working knowledge of HVAC control systems, preferably either Siemens or Johnson digital BAS level system controls. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Ability to deal effectively with supervisors, peers, and faculty. Conditions of Employment • This position has been designated as essential to the operation of the department, will require reporting to work when the University is officially closed, and is subject to overtime. • Incumbent will be required to participate in Facilities Management on-call program.
