Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team at Frito-Lay, a leading manufacturer of iconic snack brands such as Classic Lay's, Cheetos, and Doritos. As a vital member of our production team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our shipping and receiving processes, contributing to the success of our organization and unlocking opportunities for career growth and advancement within PepsiCo, our parent company.
Work Schedule and Environment:
- Part-time position with a flexible schedule, averaging 20-25 hours per week
- Work schedule includes weekdays, with some variability to accommodate business needs
- Physically demanding role that requires standing for long periods, lifting objects weighing 15-50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and distribute products, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of shipments
- Operate a forklift to move pallets and cases, following safety protocols and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sweeping floors, cleaning trailers, and removing waste
- Perform weekly stock-taking exercises and assist with inventory management
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure seamless communication and coordination
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Able to lift objects weighing 15-50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Capable of standing for long periods, walking, and engaging in physical activities such as climbing, bending, and stretching
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to changing priorities
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new technologies
