Contract Job Description Under broad supervision, analyzes business needs and participates in the planning, design, and implementation of new or enhanced learning systems and training solutions. May act as a team or project leader. The Instructional Designer is responsible for developing innovative instructional programs and materials that align with organizational goals and learner needs. This role requires a blend of instructional design expertise, creativity, and strong communication skills to create engaging and effective learning experiences. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and relevancy of training content. Local candidates and onsite work schedule are preferred; however, remote candidates will also be considered. Role may require occasional onsite presence based on business needs. Key Responsibilities Conduct Training Needs Assessments and Audience Analyses to identify learning objectives, performance gaps, target audiences, and delivery methods. Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive 508-compliant instructional materials, including: Course summary sheets Learning objectives Course outlines Storyboards Video scripts Job aids Quick reference guides Supporting training documentation Create online and interactive training materials in multiple formats including: Instructor-led training (ILT) Virtual training Microlearning Videos eLearning courses Printable job aids Develop SCORM-compliant webinars, microlearning modules, and full-length eLearning courses using tools such as: Articulate Storyline Adobe Captivate Camtasia Develop and administer assessments including quizzes, simulations, tests, and practical exercises to measure learner progress and training effectiveness. Analyze assessment data and recommend improvements to enhance learning outcomes. Track and document instructional design project progress, timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Collaborate with SMEs, leadership teams, and stakeholders to gather content and align training programs with organizational goals. Review and update curriculum and training content periodically to ensure accuracy, relevancy, and compliance with industry standards. Stay current with instructional design trends, adult learning methodologies, and industry best practices. Perform additional duties as assigned. Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model Adult Learning Principles Experience developing SCORM-compliant courses and working with Learning Management Systems (LMS). Strong understanding of 508 compliance and accessibility standards. Expertise in creating instructional materials, storyboards, assessments, job aids, and multimedia learning content. Experience creating virtual, instructor-led, and self-paced training solutions. Strong project tracking and documentation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment. Desired Skills Bachelor s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field. Experience using Workday Learning or Workday LMS for training delivery, reporting, and learner tracking. Experience integrating Workday with eLearning platforms and authoring tools. Preferred Experience Experience supporting large-scale ERP transitions or Workday implementations. Master s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field. Knowledge of gamification strategies to improve learner engagement. Experience creating multimedia content using Adobe Creative Suite:
