Pemberton Personal Injury Law Firm—named a 2025 Best Place to Work: Law Firms—is growing and seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team.
Position Overview
The HR Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources for the firm, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, and culture initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong teams, improving processes, and creating a supportive work environment in a fast-paced legal setting.
This position may be performed fully remotely; however, candidates must reside in Wisconsin at the time of hire and maintain Wisconsin residency throughout employment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead recruitment efforts, including job postings, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook materials
Support employee relations by addressing concerns, coaching managers, and promoting a positive workplace culture
Manage benefits administration, leave tracking, and HRIS systems
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Coordinate performance review processes and employee development initiatives
Assist leadership with organizational planning and workforce strategy
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
Partner with firm leadership on culture, retention, and growth initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
3+ years of HR management or generalist experience
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment is a plus
What We Offer
Fully remote work opportunity available for Wisconsin-based employees only.
$60,000 - $85,000 annual salary, based on experience
