Header Overview Applied Future Technologies (AFT) seeks a GIS Data Analyst/Architect with strong ETL, API integration, QA/QC, and GIS data modeling expertise to support federal transportation data modernization projects. This role focuses on enterprise geospatial data architecture, pipeline development, quality assurance automation, and integration of large-scale roadway datasets. The analyst/architect will design GIS schemas, build robust ETL processes, implement automated validation frameworks, manage data lineage, and support stakeholder reporting using national transportation data sources. Responsibilities • Design and implement enterprise GIS data models and geodatabase schemas for linear roadway networks and transportation features. • Develop ETL pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and loading transportation datasets (shapefiles, GeoJSON, CSV) into enterprise geodatabases. • Create comprehensive QA/QC frameworks with validation rules, automated error detection, reconciliation reports, and quality metrics dashboards. • Perform data profiling, anomaly detection, and completeness checks across multi-jurisdictional datasets with varying schemas. • Manage data lineage documentation, change tracking, audit trails, and metadata for regulatory compliance. • Build API integrations for data exchange between GIS platforms, external data hubs, and analytical systems. • Generate automated reporting and visualization of data quality metrics and pipeline performance. • Support data governance including standardization, schema governance, and transformation documentation. • Collaborate with GIS teams and stakeholders to validate business requirements and optimize workflows. Qualifications • 8+ years experience in GIS data engineering/architecture with ETL pipeline development. • Expert-level GIS data modeling and schema design for enterprise geodatabases and spatial networks. • Proficiency with GIS schema languages, domains, subtypes, relationship classes, and topology rules. • Expert Python programming for data processing, ArcPy automation, and API integration. • Strong ETL tools experience (FME, Talend, or equivalent) and geospatial data integration. • Proven QA/QC framework development for geospatial datasets including validation automation. • Experience with transportation datasets (road networks, LRS preferred) and SQL databases. • REST APIs, JSON processing, and web service integration experience. • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Data Science, Geography, or related field. • U.S. citizenship; ability to pass federal background check. Preferred Qualifications • ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Data Reviewer expertise. • Federal government contracting experience (transportation/infrastructure preferred). • Esri Roads and Highways for linear network modeling. • Experience with FGDC/ISO metadata standards and data governance frameworks. • Section 508 compliance for geospatial visualizations and reports.
