We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Art Teacher for a full-time contract position, working 37.5 hours each week with schools in the Bath, Hornell, or Jasper-Troupsburg area. In this onsite-only role, you'll have the opportunity to inspire students and help them discover their artistic voice in a nurturing educational environment.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
• Valid New York State Visual Arts Initial Certificate
• Background in general education instruction, with a focus on visual arts
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with school staff
• Ability to adapt art curriculum for various grade levels and learning needs
• Experience in classroom management and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging art instruction to students in accordance with New York State standards
• Develop lesson plans that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and artistic skills
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
• Foster a supportive, respectful classroom culture that honors diverse perspectives
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and staff to enhance the educational experience
